Managers do not make policy they enforce it. In the Cash Department the latitude is not there for the Managers of the department to Stray from the facts. I talked with management and they offered to reimburse you. As for does any one tell you when you purchase a gift card.. no, no one does. It is mostly assumed that gift cards will be used soon after being bought. My question was and still is, "What is a legitimate amount of time for a company to have to keep your information available? You get a credit style card. It does cost money to store the information along with your purchase. For the most part the charges start after a year and are there for the purpose of legitimately getting cards with little or no money on them out of the record system. The programming necessary to be able to differentiate between small amounts and large is expensive. How much should a company spend to keep track of money from gift cards. Richard should have given you the benefit of the doubt when you pointed out the problem, as I said call back and talk to the store manager. YOU DID NOT. I offered to fix the problem for you, you would not let me. I think you were charged a one month fee of a whole 50 cents?? I know it was not a lot. You also did NOT contact me after I deleted your post which did not have as required by the site your name address or phone number on the post so Galyans could answer you. You did come on every board for fifty miles to complain. I should mention to the folks here that you threw a nice little fit for Richard, and were not respectful of him, his situation or the other personell or customers near you. You made a scene and that was probably why you did not get your situation fixed. Had you respected the position of the department manager and allowed him to contact the store manager you might have gotten your money. You went on 3 different boards I am aware of that and complained. You made as much noise as you could online just like you did in the store. I offered to fix the problem and you rebuffed me. Obviously you just wanted to complain. Sorry for the delay but I accidentally found this post doing a search.
